Ultra-low bleed silicones for septa promote analytical purity and prevent ghost peaks on chromatographs. To avoid septum bleed, Specialty Silicone Products (SSP) uses only platinum-cured silicones. When requested, a batch of septa can be analyzed in our QC Lab by GC-MS and a copy of the test report can be sent with your order.
By removing excess siloxanes, SSP reduces potential contaminants that could show up in mass spectrometry (MS) during gas chromatography (GC) or liquid chromatography (LC). If samples become contaminated with siloxanes during GC/MS or LC/MS, laboratory technicians may struggle to interpret the test results. Siloxane buildups can also coat the MS source and require cleaning.
Ultra-low bleed silicones from SSP support the accuracy of volatile organic analysis (VOA), a series of laboratory techniques for identifying and measuring volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
